St Hugh’s Anglican Church in Vence is home from home for Anglicans and English-speaking Christians from all over the world who live in or visit Vence and the surrounding area. We are a small, vibrant faith community which worships together each Sunday.
In addition to worship, we enjoy socializing with one another – and we look after one another in times of need. We meet each Sunday after the Eucharist for coffee. During the summer months, we share a glass of rosé on Saturdays. We meet during the week in homes, restaurants or cafes to enjoy each other’s company, to chat, to share joys and sorrows. We offer the hand of friendship to newcomers, whether visitors or newly arrived members of the community. And we support to those who are housebound or in hospital.
For many people St Hugh’s is a focal point in their life in France.
Our community began in 1909 and moved into our Church 85 years ago. The building was a generous gift from a member and it has been well-maintained by subsequent generations. It is now our turn. We look forward to celebrating 100 years BUT for that to happen we need your ideas, your time, and your financial help. So, following Fr Peter’s sermon about stewardship on September 6th, we will be writing to ask you for your practical help.
