Jill Pirdas has asked me to advertise a knitting day to be held by Les Petits Frères des Pauvres. She writes that they ‘are having a gigantic knitting sitting to celebrate their 10 years in Nice. Come along and join us on the Promenade du Paillon in Nice where you will learn how to knit tiny bonnets! These bonnets go to decorate juice bottles: a British company pays 20 centimes for each bonnet which goes to the association which visits elderly, poor and lonely people in the city.
There will be a marquee in the central part called Square Leclerc from 10 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on Saturday the 8th June. Wool and knitting needles are provided but any donations of the same would be welcome. You will also be able to meet some of our volunteers and also some of the elderly people that we accompany. The association held their Christmas party in the church hall last December.’
